Welcome to the official website for the Beta Xi Chapter of Alpha Omega Epsilon at Washington University in St. Louis! Alpha Omega Epsilon is a social and professional sorority for women in engineering and technical sciences dedicated to promoting friendship, leadership, and professionalism. Our chapter was established here at Washington University on April 19, 2014, and ever since we have worked together to support each other and develop strong female leaders in the STEM fields.

One of the most unique aspects of Alpha Omega Epsilon is the duality between the pursuit of scholastic and professional growth and the community fostered through sisterhood and social activities. As a Chapter, we dedicate ourselves to high academic success in a variety of STEM disciplines through resources such as study tables and faculty lunches. As a result, our overall GPA is consistently above the University average. Outside of the classroom, we foster professional and philanthropic development through events such as resume workshops, internship panels, volunteering at local elementary and middle schools, and Relay for Life. Lastly, while our sorority is a member of the Professional Fraternity Association, we also have fun community activities like formals, movie nights, apple-picking, and Big/Little pairings to create friendships that extend far beyond the classroom.

Joining Alpha Omega Epsilon has been one of the best decisions that I have made in college. I have shared so many memories with some of the most sincere and brilliant women I have ever met. I have received realistic advice from alumnae members who are accomplishing outstanding work in their fields and from sisters still in school who have experienced firsthand the stress of a particular class or job search. Perhaps most importantly, though, I have formed friendships with supportive and understanding women in STEM who have pushed me to become the best version of myself. The encouragement I have received from my sisters here in the Beta Xi chapter has been truly invaluable to me as a student, professional, and growing leader in the STEM fields, and having the opportunity to be the president of an organization with so many strong, dedicated women is an honor.
