We are thrilled to have you visit the official website of the Beta Xi Chapter of Alpha Omega Epsilon at Washington University in St. Louis! Alpha Omega Epsilon is a unique blend of a social and professional sorority designed specifically for women in engineering and technical sciences. Our mission is to foster friendship, encourage leadership, and uphold professionalism among our members. Since our establishment on April 19, 2014, our chapter has been united in our efforts to support each other and nurture strong female leaders within the STEM fields.
Alpha Omega Epsilon stands out for its commitment to both academic and professional excellence as well as its dedication to the community. As a chapter, we strive for high academic achievements across various STEM disciplines, aided by resources such as study tables, Courses & Cookies, and faculty lunches which have continually helped in maintaining our overall GPA above the university average. Beyond academics, we actively engage in professional growth and philanthropic initiatives through events like resume workshops, internship panels, volunteering at local schools, and participation in Noche de Ciencias. While we take pride in our professional aspects, we also cherish the social aspects of our sorority with activities such as formals, movie nights, apple-picking outings, and Big/Little pairings, fostering friendships that last beyond our college years.
Being a member of Alpha Omega Epsilon has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my college career. It has allowed me to create lasting memories with some of the most inspiring and brilliant women I've ever encountered. The guidance and real-world advice from alumni and peers have been immensely beneficial, helping me navigate classes, job searches, and professional challenges. I’ve gained valuable leadership and professional experience, but most importantly, the friendships and support from my sisters in the Beta Xi chapter have been invaluable, pushing me to become the best version of myself. Serving as the president of an organization composed of such dedicated and strong women is an honor I deeply cherish.
